Nu Door Security Gates utilize a series of homogenic single tube uprights. A unique design which allows for the vertical tubes to start within the top track and extend into the bottom track, thus no weak points are created where tubes are connected to the roller system or guide track feet. This ensures a very high quality of security and peace of mind.

Nu Door Expanding Security gates utilizes a series of homogenic single tube uprights. This design allows for the vertical tubes to start within the top track and extend into the bottom track, thus no weak points are created where tubes are connected to the roller system or guide track feet.
The 15.88 x 15.88 x 1.2 mm, cold rolled tubes are punched, holed and cut to length prior to galvanising, thus ensuring our trellis gates to be rustproof.
Both our uniquely designed top and bottom tracks are manufactured from Grade 6063 extruded Aluminium.
The top track was designed in such a manner the once the gate has been installed it is impossible to lift the gate out of the tracks.
Our curved bottom track is wheel-chair friendly and extend only 17 mm from the ground.
The rollers on a security gate does 90% of the hard work when the door opens or closes. Care was therefore taken when we designed the roller system.
Our curved, glass-filled nylon and steel pinned rollers was designed to enable the gate to allow for a “soft” sliding motion and maximum durability.
Manufactured from a 38 x 25 mm rectangular mild steel tube and pre-punched to accommodate the lock. Once again, all manufacturing takes place prior to galvanising.
Our U-shaped aluminium extruded locking channel gets riveted to the lockbar with concealed rivets. Once the gate is closed the locking channel encases the wall-lockbar so that there is no visible gap between the two.
On a standard 2,1 m high security gate we will use 3 rows of flights or “crosses”. Gates greater than 2,1 m in height will have 4 to 5 rows, depending on the height.
The flights are made from 17 x 2 x 165 mm hardened steel and pre punched with 3 No. 5,5 mm holes.
Flights are bound together with brass-nickels plated semi- tubular rivets. The flights are fixed to the uprights with high quality aluminium pop rivets.
All Nu Door security gates gets equipped with high quality imported CISA locks.
Our clients have a choice between a standard hook/dead lock or SLAM LOCK. A 10 mm locating pin is fixed to the front of the lock, adding safety and security to the locking system.
Each flight utilizes of 3nr rivets:
- 1 nr 4.8mm x 12mm brass nickel plated rivet (no rust)
- 1 nr 4.8mm x 15mm brass nickel plated rivet (no rust)
- 1 nr 4.8mm x 15mm aeronautical approved aluminium pop rivet
Galvanizing
One of our design criteria was to design a gate that is rust proof. All tubes are hot dipped galvanised to ISO 1461 to protect your product against corrosion.
Epoxy Coating
Powder epoxy coating is a decorative colour powder that gets baked onto steel. Only exterior powders with a high UV resistance rating is used in our factories.
We have an option of a number of colours to suit your interior.

We offer a 3 to 5 year workmanship and material warranty on all Nu Door security products, depending on the choice of product.
